Before the experiment:

We put out the white powder and asked the children; What does it look like? (We put paper over the container so the children could not read it)
What does it feel like?

Some of our children said it looks like salt or sugar.  

It feels like sand.

After the experiment:

Then we poured the powder in the sensory bin and added water to it.
It began to multiply as we poured the water in the sensory bin.
Then we asked the children the same questions.  How does it feel?
What does it look like?

It feels like snow,
