We invited our parents to the school for the morning to be part of an engagement piece with their child. The book Mrs. Osborne and Mrs. Diab chose was " The Jacket I Wear in the Snow" by Shirley Neitzel. There where three classes involved who help make this morning a success, Mrs. Diab/ Mrs.Osborne, Mrs. Hurley/Mrs. Crispin and Mrs. MacDougall/ Mrs. Bombardier. Each class had a book they chose with corresponding activities where the parents were able to visit. Here are some pictures taken from our room, the centres we had were; a smart board activity, sensory table (find the clothes), retell craft and a sorting activity -What should you wear in the snow?
Our sorting station-
They needed to sort the winter clothing from the summer/ spring clothing.
Our sensory station-
They needed to find the items in the book them place that item on the person on the wall.

The children needed to cut out the strips of clothing and glue them together then place their strip through the snowman to retell the story.

Smartboard stations-
First we listened to the story on the smart board, then the children were able to play a sequencing game. Also there was a match the shadow to the clothing and a memory game.
